Happy Pride Month (Click on Link 👆to Learn More) Every year, during the month of June, the LGBTQ community celebrates in a number of different ways.  Across the globe, various events are held during this special month as a way of recognizing the influence LGBTQ people have had around the world.  As well as being a month long celebration, Pride month is also an opportunity to peacefully protest and raise political awareness of current issues facing the community.  You don’t have to be LGBTQ to participate in Pride Month.  Allies are welcome and everyone is welcome to celebrate — especially in the spirit of equal rights. I love rainbows, and Pride Month   is the ideal time to get crafty with colorful projects.   From homemade Friendship bracelets , Tie-dye  t-shirts to Decorated Cookies and Colorful Cupcakes , (Click on Links 👆to Learn More)   there are endless ways to create rainbow-themed decorations   that bring   Pride Month front and center! 👉 Info and Resources for LGBTQ Tee

Lucky Penny Day

Image
Did you know that today is   👉 National Lucky Penny Day 👈   It’s always nice to find a penny and on this day everyone is on the lookout in the hopes of finding one lying around.  The discovery of pennies is often associated with good luck and celebrators believe that if you find a penny on National Lucky Penny Day, you might just be incredibly blessed!   Do you stop to pick up pennies? I do! I like to check the dates on pennies. 👉 Penny Candy No Longer Costs a Penny 👈 When your grandma (or great-grandma) was a kid, every neighborhood and small town had a pharmacy, five-and-dime or straight-up candy store that sold penny candy. Cheap and chewy treats like NECCO Wafers, Tootsie Rolls and dozens of other sugary snacks sold to kids for a penny a piece or in bulk for even less. As the penny lost its purchasing power, and mom-and-pop candy shops were run out of business by big chain grocery stores, penny candy went out of fashion, relegated to the nostalgia bin of history. 👉 How Much

What is your Favorite thing to do in the Summer?

What is Your Favorite Thing to do in the Summer? (Click 👆to Take the Poll) Hello-  I won't lie, summer is not my favorite season.  I prefer a bright foliage colored, blue skied, crisp fall day over anything that the summer has to offer.  I don't mind kayaking in the summer. If it gets too warm, I can simply roll out of my  kayak, take a swim  and cool off. I also enjoy seeing the different types of wildlife that live along the edges of our beautiful rivers here in Three Rivers. I love catching glimpses of the 👉 Bald Eagles 👈that call our rivers home.   I am grateful that we have so many kayaking opportunities with all the rivers and lakes in our surrounding areas, as well as the entire  State of Michigan . I've included a few of the many options below. - Liquid Therapy  - Experience the relaxation and history of a canoe/kayak trip down one of St. Joseph County's many rivers. We launch seven days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Shuttle service available. Group

Friday the 13th: Is today your unlucky day?   (Click 👆On) Are You Superstitious ? Consider yourself lucky. This is the only Friday the 13th you’ll have this year.  The number 13 and Friday have been intertwined in irrational fear since the 1800s. Today is a good day to look at bad luck. Today is also National Blame Someone Else Day (Click 👆On to Learn More) Anne Moeller in Michigan, who started the trend in 1982 as an excuse for not keeping her appointments on the fateful day of Friday the 13th. (To be honest, it was really the fault of her alarm clock that didn’t go off, which set off a chain of events that day that all turned into a large amount of bad luck!) From Ms. Moeller’s deep desire to make all of the bad luck of her day someone else’s fault spawned this lighthearted, silly day that adds a little bit of interest to life. It’s time to celebrate National Blame Someone Else Day! Blame Someone Else Day could just be your day.  But, watch out.....  any blame you place today, can

Some of us even like to make a big thing about wearing them.  But does anyone know where all the other odd socks go? Who Decided There Should be a National Lost Sock Day?
